A Barefoot Technician is responsible for assisting the Technical Assistant/ Junior Engineer (JE)/ Assistant Engineer (AE) in various activities such as identifying work and worksites under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA); collecting baseline information; assisting in making the presentation to Gram Panchayat (GP); and assisting in preparing for work on the MGNREGA worksite. The person also assists in monitoring work at worksites and maintaining the relevant MGNREGA records.

A Sericulturist is responsible for rearing silkworms to obtain raw silk fiber from them. The individual sets up a rearing house; procure silkworm eggs; arrange to hatch them; hatches and maintain silkworm during their development staged; harvest and processes cocoon to extract raw silk fibre from them; and markets the raw silk fibre and cocoon. The person also propagates and maintains mulberry trees for mulberry leaves to feed silkworms.

• Cultivate mulberry trees for feeding silkworms.
• Prepare for rearing silkworms.
• Incubate silkworm eggs and rear larvae.
• Perform pest and disease management during sericulture.

The individual produces good quality vermicompost using correct species of earthworms, materials, vermicomposting techniques in appropriate site/location .The individual also undertakes basic entrepreneurial activities for small enterprise and sell the produced compost as per the competitive market prices​

A Plant Tissue culture Technician performs several activities such as preparing the lab, culture media and mother plant, extracting, preparing, planting and maintaining explants. The person also transplants the tissue cultured plants and maintains record of laboratory operations.
