From Agriculture Skilling Perspective

In the current scenario, it is essential that Entrepreneurship/self-employment skills should be given more preference and the agriculture sector offers phenomenal opportunities in this area paving way for a bright future by imparting self-sustainability, employability & entrepreneurial skills. As NULM undertakes Skill Development Training as a part of EST&P in its DAY-NULM program, certain job roles where Training Partners can put projects in Agri-Skilling under DAY-NULM scheme:

One of the several components of the DAY-NULM is the Employment through Skill Training & Placement (EST&P) which intends to provide training to the urban poor as per the skill demand from the market, so that they can improve their quality of life through better employment generation.

Target Beneficiaries for EST&P Component of DAY-NULM:

  • It will focus on providing assistance for development/upgrading of the skills of the urban poor.
  • No minimum educational qualification is prescribed for the selection of beneficiaries under EST&P.
  • Special attention will be paid to the skill upgradation of vulnerable groups like beggars, rag pickers, construction workers, destitute, etc.

Outcome of the EST&P (Employment through Skill Training & Placement):

The skill development under the EST&P component of DAY-NULM will provide access to the improved livelihood to the urban poor by making them job-ready for the market-based jobs. It will enable the individuals to start self-employment ventures or secure salaried employment.
