Assessment of Training Programmes

An Assessment is a structured and well refined process which analysis and evaluates an individual against agreed criteria. The competence level of a trainee or skilled person is evaluated through a range of tools- Theoretical knowledge through written tests and practical knowledge through on the job work and viva voice/discussion.

The methodology of conduct is different and as per the job role of the candidate. In general, the assessment comprises of Theory, Practical and Viva-voce

Written exam:

Theoretical knowledge is tested not only in its application in practical but also as a separate oral test/written test. The pattern of questions for the theory test includes Objective type questions, matching, True-False statements, identification, etc.

Practical exam:

In the practical examination, attributes such as application of knowledge, Care for tools and equipment, economic use of materials, Safety consciousness, Safety of workmanship, accuracy of job completed, No of attempts, attitude etc. are assessed and marked as Satisfactory or Not satisfactory. Those candidates who successfully carry out his/her activities are declared pass in the practical test.

Viva-voice:

Viva voice conducted during the practical test will assess the knowledge of the candidate in practical applications. For certain job roles, like sales and marketing, this can be replaced with discussion.
