Notice for Training Partners regarding Assessment and Certification New   

RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning)​ ​

It is a skill certification component of PMKVY Scheme which focuses on individuals with prior learning experience or skills engaged in the unregulated sectors so that their skills can be assessed and recognized through certification.

Objectives of the RPL Scheme:

  • To align the competencies of the pre-existing workforce of the country to the standardized NSQF (National Skill Qualification Framework).
  • Enhance the employability and/or entrepreneurial opportunities of an individual.
  • To provide opportunities for reducing inequalities based on privileging certain forms of knowledge over others.

Target Beneficiaries:

  • Candidate must be of Indian nationality.
  • Candidate must be of age 18-45 years of age.
  • Has prior experience in the job role for which they want RPL certification and as specified by the SSCs for those job roles.
  • Possesses an Aadhaar card and Aadhaar linked bank account.
  • Fulfils other criteria related to work experience as defined by the SSCs for the respective job roles
  • If target beneficiaries belong to higher age groups than those specified in point 1, the Project Implementing Agency (PIA) would have to get this approved during the sanction from the PMKVY 3.0 Executive Committee/State level Empowered Committee.

Help individuals acquire the formal recognition of their qualification which has been acquired by them through informal means or during the course of their work in the organization.

If the industry gets its workforce certified under RPL, the industry gets a dual advantage:

  • Open up different paths for workers to upskill & grow through short-term training & bridge courses
