India is the largest producer, consumer and exporter of spices and spice products. It ranks third in farm and agriculture outputs. The agro industry in India is divided into several sub segments such as canned, dairy, processed, frozen food to fisheries, meat, poultry, and food grains.
Over 70 percent of the rural households depends on agriculture as their principal means of livelihood. Agriculture along with fisheries and forestry accounts for one-third of nation’s GDP and is its single largest contributor.
Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna
Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) is a unique initiative by the Government of India that aims to offer 24 lakh Indian youth meaningful, industry relevant, skill based training. PMKVY was envisaged as a key measure to impart skills-based training to the youth, making them capable of earning and supporting the nation’s anti-poverty endeavors. The scheme becomes all the more important in the Indian society which has the world’s largest youth population that requires employable skills.
National Occupation Standard
National Occupational Standards (NOS) is a document that describes the knowledge, skills and understanding an individual needs to be competent at a job. NOS promote industry best practice, and have been developed by industry practitioners covering all industry sectors.
NOS describes functions, standards of performance and knowledge/understanding. A set of NOS, aligned to a certain job role along with their NSQF level form a "Qualification Pack".
